BBC UK has launched a FreeSat a free satellite television service along with ITV . Launched in UK, this free satellite TV service is called FreeSat & is growing in popularity.

Currently, as of August 2008, FreeSat has over 80 channels & more are being added every month. FreeSat offers both digital TV channels , Free High Definition Channels as well as Free Radio Channels in UK.

FreeSat is broadcast via satellite so it will be available to almost every household (now only in the UK). Everyone can now enjoy free digital TV & free HD programs .

FreeSat is the first platform to offer subscription free HD services , enhanced HD interactive services and future feature expansion including the addition of broadband internet applications.

FreeSat does not require you to subscribe or pay for any of the channels broadcast by BBC. There are no ongoing subscription fees either for the web, HD or radio channels.

However, viewers have to buy the satellite dish & the decoder – a one time buy only.
