Free Text To Speech Converter for your Website’s & Blog’s Content

free-text-to-speech-converter For a long time I have used Microsoft speech tools that came along with the operating system for all text to speech converting needs. For a short while I have also used a free product called TextToWav to convert written text to audible .wav files.

But most of them suffer from annotation & punctuation problems. And I could never get a good selection of the voice.

I read about ReadPlease.com & decided to try it for my own use. You could also use this text to speech converter to read any web page content aloud to you.

Currently the website offers 3 versions. The Free ReadPlease 2003 , the ReadPlease Plus (for less than USD 50.00) & ReadingBar (for less than USD 70.00). But for normal use, the free version is quite sufficient. The 2 features that I found not available or a limitation on the free version are (1) the text file size is only 16kb, though for my purpose, this is almost always sufficient (2) the availability of the speech on .mp3 format.

But here is the interesting part. You can use the tool to provide a voice to your website & blog’s content. The instructions are quite simple. The ReadingBar version of the tool puts an add-on icon on the Internet Explorer browser that you could use to convert any website’s content to speech.
