Google Launches Chrome – New Google Web Browser Available for Download
Google has finally released their new web browser Chrome (Beta) for download . Although the news of the release was much anticipated, many bloggers & new agencies captured the initial screen shot of Chrome even before the official release.
Chrome is now available only for Windows XP & Vista, although Apple Mac OS X & Linux versions would be rolled out soon.
Google has posted a wide range of videos tutorials on the features of Chrome .
A news report on Reuters mentioned the possible release of Chrome with Google’s plans of entering the web browser market . Google officials calls the move "a fresh take on the browser" – especially at a time when the launch of Chrome coincides with the recent introduction by arch-rival Microsoft of its Internet Explorer 8 last month.
Chrome is built with components from Apple WebKit & Mozilla . Google Chrome is designed to load pages faster and more securely , but it also includes a new engine for loading interactive JavaScript code , dubbed V8, that is designed to run the next generation of not-yet-invented Web applications.
As for the rumors & the hype, Google confirmed that it had prematurely mailed a copy of a promotional comic book detailing plans for Chrome to a blogger. Blogoscope’s writer, Philipp Lenssen , scanned and published the 38-page comic .
2 features appeared specially interesting – the browser crash control & recovery technology & the Incognito Mode .
Incognito is a special privacy mode that lets users create an "incognito" window where "nothing that occurs in that window is ever logged on your computer." This is a read-only feature with access to one’s bookmarks of favorite sites.
