Nikon D200 Digital Camera Firmware Updates for Windows & Macintosh
If your Nikon D200 Digital Camera has a firmware version of 1.0, it is time to upgrade your Nikon D200 Digital Camera’s firmware version to 2.0. Nikon has released the updated version of the D200 firmware version in February 2008.
The updates are available both for Windows & for Macintosh computers. For Windows compatibility Nikon mentions Windows 98SE, 2000, ME, XP (Pro & Home versions) but does not specify if the updates should apply for Vista operated Windows computers as well.
Issues addressed with firmware version 2.0.0
1. Image authentication item has been added to the setup menu. The optional Image Authentication software is required to authenticate images.
2. A Wireless transmitter item has been added to the setup menu. This item is available only when the optional Wireless Transmitter WT-3 is connected to the camera.
Along with the upgrade, Nikon has released a supplementary user manual. You can download the user manual here. Whether you use the image authentication feature or the remote wireless transmission feature on the camera, it is recommended to have the camera’s firmware kept updated to the latest versions.
