Ripping Audio CDs from CDA format to create audio files in WAV, MP3 & Vorbis

free music dc ripping software to create flac lossless wmv mp3 & vorbis formats I had too many audio CDs & I was trying to make a small compilation of all my favorite songs. But then, all my favorite songs & instrumentals were all over the place.

I needed a software to pick up only the songs I liked and save them as a MP3 file. I could then copy the files over to my MP3 player.
Ripping a CD is copying the music from a audio compact disc (CD) to a computer. FreeRIP is a "ripper" software which is a software that can copy tracks from your CDs and convert them to audio files in various formats, like MP3, Flac, WMA, WAV and Ogg Vorbis. The music on a CD is stored in the CD Audio format (CDA) and needs a special software to extract them from the CD into a new format, like MP3 or WMA etc.

I evaluated FreeRIP CD Ripping software & found it very helpful. The FreeRIP software is available free of cost & is extremely light. I do a lot of digital imaging & video work on my computers & laptops. They require various types of complex softwares to run. But FreeRIP does not conflict with any of the commonly used digital imaging or video softwares.

If you plan to copy your CD audio files with the FreeRIP software, all you need to do is to set a default format for your new files. I like mine in MP3 since I can use them on my portable MP3 player, burn on a CD & even upload onto my websites. You can set it from the main menu after you install the software.

However, since this software is also a format converter, there would be some losses in the quality of the audio. So its best to use this to convert audio CD (which are recorded & burned almost lossless) files into either MP3 or WMV or Vorbis. Copying or converting a MP3 or another WMV file with any audio converting software would result in even poorer quality of audio.
