Jing is a new software from Camtasia Studios that lets you take a picture of your desktop, record & save videos of online actions & share them on email, instant messengers & on the web.

Jing is a free software that lets you record any or all desktop screen activities. You can simply create a picture by taking a snapshot of your computer screen. Or you could create movies & videos by recording any activity that you are performing on your desktop screen.

Once you have created a picture or you have created a movie, you can share it instantaneously with your friends on emails, instant messengers or on the internet. You can also share your Jing movies & pictures on Facebook or Twitter.

Jing, like the other screen capturing software, also lets you record movies or videos that you are playing on your monitor. Although there will be some degradation of the quality of the videos, but you will still manage to record entire movies while you are playing them on your computer.

Jing lets you record movies for 5 minutes or less in duration.

Software like Jing could be used in many unique ways. As a collaborative tool, movies can be created from your computer screen & used as training videos, you can instantly save internet ads – many of which are flash based ads & collaborate on design projects.
