PhishTank is a free community site where anyone can submit, verify, track and share phishing data . PhishTank is operated by OpenDNS, a company founded in 2005 to improve the Internet through safer, faster, and smarter DNS.

It provides accurate, actionable information to anyone trying to identify bad actors, whether for themselves or for others (i.e., building security tools).

With the growing misuse of the internet, PhishTank provides with ways in which good webmasters & users can identify, verify & report phishing & spamming domains.

PhishTank is an open repository, a database of all websites & domains that are known to have been spreading & abating internet spamming. A very vital service of PhishTank is the daily statistics of reported phishing domains. And you can also verify if your website is reported as a phishing site by anyone.

Since PhishTank works with several domain registering services, in case your website is listed, you would rather contact them & resolve if there is a mistake.

You need to register with PhishTank for free. To report a phishing attempt, email phish@phishtank.com from your registered email address. It is important to include as much information as possible, including mail headers if possible. For that reason, we suggest redirecting any suspected phishes to PhishTank. Forwarding (FW) or Replying (RE) an email to report a phish, takes out important information like email headers & URLs that are critical to identifying the bad domain.
