External Torrent Directory files are named with the File Extension ETD. If this feature is enabled on a web browser, torrent files with be downloaded from an external source when users click a download link in your torrent table.

The file extension for torrent files is .torrent. If you use File Extension ETD, it will be necessary for your Allowed / Upload Directory to be mirrored on the external web server. To enable ETD files, simply specify the full URL to the directory on the external web server that will contain a copy of the torrents found in your Allowed / Upload Directory.

There are two other known sources of files that are used with the extension ETD. File Extension ETD is also used by Adobe Systems for the Acrobat eBook Reader EBX Transfer Data Files.  Epsilonsoft, a company that is popular for making teaching software, also makes ETD files for their software’s use.

But the most common ones have either been the torrent files or the Adobe Reader files. Although Adobe has discontinued the eBook Adobe Reader, all its functions have been incorporated in Standard Adobe Reader 9 software. So any older files that may be on your computer could be used if you have Adobe Reader.

The best way would be to run a computer scan for all File Extension ETD & associate these files with the Adobe Standard Reader 9.
